ENG 101
Senior Year
Senior year of high school definitely pushed me both mentally and physically. While being a senior is already stressful, I had more on my plate. I knew what I wanted to be and had a plan since freshman year, which was probably a good thing. I was taking three classes in high school and also enrolled in a one-year physical therapy aide program at another school. I would attend my regular high school classes in the morning and then go to my program.
Applying for college and filling out the FAFSA was another challenge for me, as was deciding what was best for me. I was in a lot of physical and mental pain at the end of each day. My program made high school very easy for me because it was extremely difficult and draining. Learning about exercise and doing it every day was extremely exhausting. and dealing with patients as a student was extremely difficult.
I also worked and continue to work at a physical therapy clinic. However, I only work part-time and five days a week. It wasn't my choice, however, because I needed hours for my program and experience. I managed my time well that year because I was doing something I enjoyed and knew would be beneficial to me in the future. In the end, I believe it was worth it because it made me a stronger person and I learned so much more knowledge.
A lot of people would disagree and say that this is too much for a person and it is not worth it. And they might also disagree that there is no personal time and free time for myself. Ashley Tibbits said, "There's a big difference between those who fill their days productively and those who do so to distract from issues that need to be dealt with. And according to recent research, there are actually legitimate benefits of being busy so long as you're going about it in a healthy way." I completely agree with this, I believe if you are keeping yourself busy in a healthy way it is actually really good for you. I also think that being busy and knowing how to manage your time is actually a very good lifestyle. In the end, I believe keeping yourself busy in the stuff that you love doing is very beneficial to you in the future.
